Bacteriostatic Water

Bacteriostatic water for injection is a sterile, non-pyrogenic preparation of water containing 0.9% (w/v) benzyl alcohol as a bacteriostatic preservative. The benzyl alcohol prevents bacterial growth in multi-dose vials after initial needle puncture, allowing multiple withdrawals over a 28-day period when stored according to guidelines. This formulation is specifically intended for use as a diluent for reconstituting lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptide powders in laboratory research settings. The 0.9% benzyl alcohol concentration provides an effective antimicrobial preservative system while maintaining compatibility with most peptide compounds. Each vial is sterile, non-pyrogenic, and packaged in a single-dose or multi-dose format. Do not use if turbid, if precipitate is present, or if the seal is compromised.
